About

Good things for a life with dogs.

A journal about the everyday objects we choose for the animals we share our homes with.

The everyday deserves attention

A water bowl does not need to be the most interesting object in a home. It does need to work. We look at the products, materials and routines behind small decisions like this, then explain the differences in ordinary language.

Our focus is drinking equipment for dogs: fountains, bowls, filters and the maintenance that comes with them. We favour useful detail over a long feature list.

How we make a recommendation

We compare published specifications and explain the editorial preference behind each pick. A recommendation is a judgement about the documented features, not a claim that every dog will prefer the same product.

Where the available information does not support a conclusion, we leave that conclusion out. We do not publish numerical product scores or invent laboratory measurements.

The people behind the words

Our articles use the editorial bylines Marcus Feld, Priya Raghavan and Tom Bexley. These are pen names used for the publication’s editorial voices, not claims of professional animal health qualifications.
